Anil’s Hybrid Maintenance

In short it is an attempt to “going back to basics”. Management from Heart (MFH) believes that:

The concept of preventive maintenance has been the most successful and widely accepted practice for a very long time. The concept is limited and sometimes not very cost effective in terms of the down-time involved. The developments in the field of automation and feedback systems has opened new area of predictive maintenance. According to Anil’s hybrid maintenance concept the total maintenance activity consists of three major activities:

  1. The Preventive maintenance – this is the traditional system where the system believes in replacing a component after attaining the pre-determined useful life. We propose to restrict this by 20 to 5% of existing levels.
  2. The predictive maintenance – this is the major contributor. Using the basic principles of prediction, the occurrence of a breakdown is forecasted. It also involves the exact location of the weak area. Accordingly, the shutdown planning and correction can be planned.
  3. The super breakdown – this includes building Anil’s practical practicing platforms, identifying recurring breakdowns and developing super breakdown teams.

A proper blend of these three steps constitute Anil’s hybrid system which needs to be tailormade for every industry depending upon the specific working pattern and equipment available.
