De-Bottlenecking

In short it is an attempt to “going back to basics”. Management from Heart (MFH) believes that:
an-2

This is a very important part of an operating manufacturing process. It is more relevant to processes which involve:

  1. Multiple stages.
  2. Combination of batch and continuous processes.
  3. Long duration processes.

For de-bottlenecking

  1. The first step is to break down the process into small, independent steps.
  2. These steps have to be quantified into quantity and duration.
  3. These steps have to be qualified as parallel or linear.
  4. Locating the bottleneck steps.

This stage is common with identifying the bottlenecks.

The further process includes:

  1. Root cause analysis.
  2. Studying the possibility of on-line upgradation.
  3. Corrective action implementation.
  4. Followup for establishing the complete process after upgradation.
  5. Reviewing and re-working for next level.
